Class 2 Driver

Pay: £16.81-£19.00 per hour

Job Description:

We are seeking a professional and reliable Class 2 Driver to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the safe and efficient transportation of goods. This role requires a strong focus on safety, punctuality, and excellent driving skills, with an emphasis on commercial driving experience. The ideal applicant will have previous delivery driver experience and a good understanding of road safety regulations. This position offers an opportunity to work within a dynamic logistics environment, contributing to the timely delivery of products across various locations.

Working hours Monday – Friday, however you will be required to work every other Saturday

Responsibilities

• Safely operate Class 2 lorries and other commercial vehicles in accordance with legal requirements and company policies.
• Load, secure, and unload cargo ensuring it is transported securely to minimise damage or loss.
• Plan routes efficiently to meet delivery schedules whilst adhering to traffic laws and safety standards.
• Conduct routine vehicle inspections before and after journeys, reporting any faults or maintenance needs promptly.
• Maintain accurate records of deliveries, mileage, fuel consumption, and vehicle logs.
• Communicate effectively with dispatch teams regarding delivery schedules or any unforeseen delays.
• Assist with loading and unloading goods when necessary, ensuring proper handling procedures are followed.
• Follow health and safety protocols at all times during operations.

Requirements

• Valid Class 2 (Category C) driving licence with a clean driving record.
• Delivery driver experience is highly desirable, demonstrating familiarity with route planning and customer service.
• Knowledge of road safety regulations and compliance standards for commercial vehicles.
• Ability to operate flatbeds safely and securely load/unload cargo as required.
• Good organisational skills with the ability to manage time effectively under tight schedules.
• Physical fitness to handle loading/unloading tasks and long hours on the road.
• Strong communication skills to liaise effectively with team members and clients.
