Bluestones Medical is currently recruiting experienced and compassionate Operating Department Practitioners (ODPs) specialising in Recovery to support theatre services across Aneurin Bevan University Health Board.

This is an excellent opportunity for dedicated Recovery Practitioners seeking flexible agency work, competitive pay rates, and the chance to make a meaningful difference in patient care within a busy theatre environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality post-anaesthetic care to patients in the recovery area.
• Monitor and assess patients’ condition following surgical procedures.
• Recognise and respond promptly to changes in patient condition.
• Manage airways and support patients during the immediate post-operative period.
• Administer prescribed medications and pain management interventions in accordance with local policies.
• Maintain accurate patient records and handovers.
• Work collaboratively with theatre staff, anaesthetists, surgeons, and ward teams to ensure seamless patient care.

Requirements

• HCPC registration as an Operating Department Practitioner.
• Previous experience working within a theatre recovery setting.
• Strong clinical assessment and patient monitoring skills.
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
• Up-to-date mandatory training (or willingness to update).
• Right to work in the UK.
