Role: Children’s Support Worker – SEN School Based
In this role, you will work closely with teachers and support staff to help pupils access learning, manage their needs, and develop confidence and independence.

Key Responsibilities

• Follow all school policies and safeguarding procedures
• Provide one-to-one and small group support tailored to pupils’ individual needs
• Support pupils with additional needs, including autism, SEMH, and learning difficulties
• Assist with behaviour management using positive and consistent strategies
• Help pupils regulate emotions and develop social skills
• Adapt learning activities to support engagement and understanding
• Support with personal care where required
• Monitor and report on pupil progress, behaviour, and wellbeing

Essential Criteria (Non-Negotiables)

• Experience working with children or young people with special educational needs
• Understanding of SEN, including autism and/or SEMH needs
• A calm, patient, and resilient approach
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work within a team
• Comfortable supporting personal care if required
• A compassionate, flexible, and proactive attitude
