About the role

EYFS Teaching Assistant
 
First For Education is seeking a nurturing and enthusiastic EYFS Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in Stourbridge This is a long-term supply role for the remainder of the academic year, supporting pupils within the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS). The role will involve working closely with the class teacher to support children at an important stage of their early development. 
The class may include pupils with additional needs, so experience supporting children with SEND within an EYFS or primary setting is highly desirable.

EYFS Teaching Assistant role requirements 

  • Previousexperience working as a Teaching Assistant in EYFS or a primary school  
  • Understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework 
  • Experience supporting early learning, play-based developmentand phonics  
  • Experience supporting children with SEND in a mainstream setting (desirable) 
  • Strong communicationand interpersonal skills  
  • A patient, caringand proactive approach  
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting pupil wellbeing 
  • Enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to apply through The Education Specialists 

 
The successful EYFS Teaching Assistant will: 

  • Support the class teacher in delivering engaging, play-based learning activities 
  • Work 1:1 and in small groups to support early development and learning 
  • Support pupils with phonics, communicationand early literacy skills  
  • Help create a safe, nurturingand inclusive learning environment  
  • Support children’s social, emotional and behavioural development 
  • Adapt support for pupils with SEND, including speech and language needs, ASDand developmental delays  
  • Assistwith classroom organisation and daily routines
