Summary
We are looking for an experienced Senior Project Engineer – Electrical to join a leading organisation in the data centre sector. Client Overview
Our client is an innovative and technology-driven consultancy dedicated to delivering excellence in engineering solutions for data centre environments.
Responsibilities

Lead the design and delivery of electrical building services upgrades for live data centres, including M&E upgrades, capacity enhancements, and technology refresh projects.
Manage retrofit-focused strategies such as system tie-ins, redundancy planning, and risk mitigation during live operations.
Oversee technical due diligence for existing facilities, conducting power and capacity assessments.
Prepare and review technical designs, schematics, reports, and tender documentation.
Manage project budgets, timelines, and contracts, mitigating scope and operational risks.
Liaise with clients, contractors, and vendors, ensuring seamless project execution.
Mentor junior engineers and support staff within the retrofit workstream.
Drive innovation and continuous improvement for retrofit delivery in complex environments.

Must-have Requirements

Proven expertise in electrical building services for live data centre environments, including LV/MV distribution and UPS systems.
Strong proficiency with AutoCAD, Revit MEP, and Microsoft Office, with calculation experience using ETAP, Amtech, or DIALux.
Comprehensive knowledge of IEC, CIBSE, BS, IS, and EN standards.
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent discipline.
Minimum of 8 years’ experience in building services engineering, with 3 years in data centre projects.
Chartered Engineer status (or actively working towards Chartership).

Nice-to-have Skills

Experience with Irish and EU building regulations and energy efficiency standards.
Familiarity with BMS/EPMS integration and smart building systems.
Knowledge of LEED/BREEAM and EU Energy Efficiency directives.
