About the Role

We are seeking a committed and compassionate Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join our dedicated team within a specialist SEN school in the Walsall area. • Work 1:1 and in small groups to promote independence, engagement, and progress.
  • Assist with planning, behaviour support and assessment under teacher guidance.
  • Create a safe, supportive and positive classroom environment.
  • Build strong relationships with pupils, staff, parents and external professionals.
  • Contribute to whole‑school initiatives that promote wellbeing, safeguarding and inclusion.

About You

We would love to hear from you if you have:

  • HLTA status or relevant Level 4 qualification
  • Experience working in a special educational needs or alternative provision setting.
  • A patient, resilient and empathetic approach to supporting vulnerable young people.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • A passion for helping children and young people achieve their full potential.

Experience with ASC, SEMH, challenging behaviour, PMLD, or complex needs is highly desirable.

Why Join Us?

  • Be part of a warm, supportive SEN community committed to transforming lives.
  • Ongoing professional development and training opportunities.
  • A positive, inclusive environment where every staff member is valued.
  • The chance to make a real difference every single day.
