Electrical Winder
Norwich | Full-Time | Permanent
£30,000 – £36,000 (up to £40,000 for the right experience)
Role summary
This is a hands-on Electrical Winder role within an established and busy engineering business. You’ll be responsible for the repair, rewinding and testing of motors and electro-mechanical equipment, working as part of a small team in a fast-paced workshop environment.
The role suits an experienced motor rewind engineer who is organised, reliable and comfortable managing a varied workload, including occasional call-out.
Key responsibilities
- Strip, rewind and repair AC/DC motors and electro-mechanical equipment
- Carry out testing and document results accurately
- Work with single-phase, three-phase, DC fields, armatures, wound stators and transformers
- Apply correct insulating techniques during rewinding processes
- Operate winding machines, test panels, surge testers, core-loss testers, ovens and workshop equipment
- Complete job paperwork accurately and on time
- Ensure high standards of housekeeping and health & safety compliance
- Delivery and collection of equipment across Norfolk and Suffolk
- Participate in occasional Saturday mornings and out-of-hours call-out
What we’re looking for
- Electrical engineering qualification or strong experience in motor rewinding
- Proven experience testing and repairing electro-mechanical units
- Experience with AC/DC motors and associated equipment
- ATEX certification advantageous
- Full clean UK driving licence
- Strong communication skills and ability to work independently and within a small team
Hours & benefits
40 hours per week, Monday to Friday 8:00am – 4:30pm
Occasional Saturday mornings and call-out rota
