Veterinary Surgeon (Part Time)

Introduction

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced veterinary surgeon to join a well-established, RCVS-accredited small animal hospital on a part-time basis. The practice is located in Sheffield, known as the “outdoor city,” close to the Peak District. This role offers the chance to work within a dedicated team that is passionate about patient care, providing comprehensive services all under one roof in a 24-hour facility.

The Role

Our client is seeking an enthusiastic and committed individual to become part of their close-knit team, which is passionate about delivering 24-hour care. This is a forward-thinking, first opinion, fully equipped small animal veterinary hospital that provides its own 24-hour emergency care, allowing veterinary surgeons to follow their cases through within one setting. The team includes experienced peripatetic orthopaedic surgeons and a cardiologist, alongside 7 Veterinary Surgeons, 9 Nurses, 4 Receptionists, placement nurses, and an office team.

The practice values flexibility and collaboration among colleagues to ensure a high level of patient care. The successful candidate should be confident in sole charge, including at a branch practice in Hathersage and when participating in the on-site 24-hour rota. Outside of opening hours, veterinary surgeons share the responsibility of triaging emergency calls and attending for emergency or inpatient care as needed, supported by a dedicated nursing team.

The client can tailor 8-10 hour day shifts to accommodate the new team member's needs, offering up to a total of 20 hours per week, which includes participation in the OOH rota. The practice prides itself on providing its own inpatient and emergency care 24/7 and fosters a friendly and dedicated team environment.
