OOH Veterinary Surgeon (Part Time)

Introduction

Candor Vets is delighted to be supporting a well-established small animal practice in Bishop Auckland, County Durham, as they seek an Out Of Hours (OOH) Veterinary Surgeon to join their dedicated night team. This is a fantastic opportunity for an ECC-trained vet or someone keen to develop their skills in this area, within a supportive environment.

The Role

This is a sole charge OOH position, where the successful candidate will work alongside one experienced veterinary nurse and one auxiliary. The rota offers an excellent work-life balance, consisting of 7 continuous shifts followed by 3 weeks off, operating on a 4-week cycle (1 week on, 3 weeks off).

The practice is well-equipped with an array of in-house diagnostic and treatment tools to support comprehensive inpatient care. Facilities include an in-house laboratory, digital X-ray, ultrasound, upper and lower GI tract endoscopes, a rigid female canine cystoscope, a bronchoscope, and a hydrotherapy unit. A CT scanner is also pending installation.

The team includes certificate holders in various disciplines, and the practice is committed to supporting further training and professional development for its veterinary staff. Accommodation can be provided if required.
