About the role
We’re seeking a Plant Operator to join our client’s team in Walkden. This role is suited to someone with a valid Forklift Truck licence and a willingness to learn, as full training will be provided. It’s a fantastic opportunity to build experience in a supportive team environment.
Location and Working Pattern
Location: Walkden, on-site only (no hybrid working)
Hours: 39 hours per week
Monday to Thursday: 8 hours per day
Friday: 7 hours
Shifts:
8:00am to 4:00pm OR
6:00am to 2:00pm
Potential for overtime

Responsibilities
Operate and monitor plant equipment in line with safety and operational guidelines
Follow health and safety standards to ensure a safe working environment
Use forklift trucks to handle and move materials around the site
Keep accurate records of operations and report any issues promptly
Assist colleagues with operational tasks as required
Perform routine checks and cleaning on equipment
Must-have Requirements
Valid Forklift Truck (FLT) licence
Minimum GCSEs or equivalent qualifications
Basic computer skills for operational and reporting tasks
Willingness to follow safety and operating procedures
Ability to work as part of a team
Nice-to-have Skills
Previous experience in a chemical plant environment
Understanding of additional industrial safety standards
