Acorn by Synergie is recruiting Refuse Collectors and Recycling Operatives to join a busy waste and recycling team in Ivybridge.

This is a physically demanding, hands-on role working outdoors in all weather conditions, collecting household and commercial waste and recycling. If you're reliable, hardworking, and enjoy working as part of a team, this is an excellent opportunity with an immediate start available from 4th August.

• Collect household and commercial waste and recycling safely and efficiently.
• Move wheelie bins, recycling boxes, and refuse bags from properties to the collection vehicle.
• Operate hydraulic lifting mechanisms to empty bins and compact waste.
• Sort recyclable and non-recyclable materials where required.
• Inspect waste for contamination or hazardous materials and report any issues.
• Guide the driver safely through narrow streets and assist with vehicle manoeuvres.
• Help unload waste and recycling at designated depots and disposal sites.
• Follow all health and safety procedures at all times.

• Physically fit and able to carry out manual handling duties.
• Comfortable lifting heavy items throughout the working day.
• Able to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Good attention to detail and ability to identify recyclable materials and contaminants.
• Basic numeracy skills and ability to follow instructions.
• Reliable with a positive attitude and strong work ethic.

• £12.85 per hour.
• Monday to Friday working pattern.
• 7am-5:30pm shifts.
