Business Development Manager

KL Talent Solutions is working in partnership with a well-established engineering and manufacturing business to recruit an experienced Business Development Manager. The business has built an outstanding reputation for delivering high-quality engineering solutions and exceptional customer service, resulting in a loyal and long-standing customer base. They are now looking to appoint a commercially minded Business Development Manager who can strengthen existing customer relationships, identify new opportunities, and work closely with the General Manager to support the next phase of growth. The Role This is a relationship-led commercial position where success is built on trust, service and long-term partnerships rather than competing on price alone. Working closely with both existing and prospective customers, you will take the time to understand their businesses, identify opportunities to add value, and ensure the company remains the supplier of choice. You will have a high level of autonomy, taking ownership of your customer base whilst contributing to the wider commercial strategy of the business. Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing customers.
• Identify opportunities to grow existing accounts and increase revenue.
• Generate new business opportunities within target sectors.
• Conduct regular customer visits and develop a thorough understanding of customer requirements.
• Work collaboratively with internal departments to deliver outstanding customer service.
• Work in partnership with the General Manager in implementing commercial growth strategies.
• Monitor market activity and identify potential opportunities for future business.
• Represent the business professionally and build long-term customer partnerships.

About You To be successful in this role, you will have:

• Previous experience in Business Development, Key Account Management, Sales Management or a similar commercial role.
• A proven ability to build and maintain long-term customer relationships.
• Strong commercial awareness with the ability to identify growth opportunities.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• A proactive and self-motivated approach.
• Experience within engineering, manufacturing, fabrication or another technical sector is a requirement.
