About the role
Ergonomist (Graduate/Junior Level) – ContractLocation: Broughton (Fully Onsite) Contract: 6 months Rate: £33.44/hr Umbrella We seek an engineer with recent high-integrity or safety-critical industry experience (defence, aerospace, or similar), or eligible for UK security clearance.About the RoleAn opportunity for a Graduate or Junior Ergonomist to join a manufacturing engineering team supporting the improvement of workplace design, operator wellbeing and production efficiency within a large-scale engineering environment.You'll work alongside manufacturing, engineering, health & safety and operational teams to identify ergonomic risks, recommend practical improvements and support projects that enhance both employee wellbeing and manufacturing performance.This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to build hands-on industrial ergonomics experience.What You'll Be Doing
Carrying out ergonomic assessments of manufacturing and assembly activities.Identifying workplace ergonomic risks and recommending practical improvements.Supporting projects focused on reducing manual handling and workplace risks.Working with engineering and manufacturing teams to improve processes and workstation design.Assisting with ergonomic action plans and continuous improvement initiatives.Producing technical reports and presenting recommendations to stakeholders.Helping ensure ergonomic principles are considered during the introduction of new equipment and processes.
What We're Looking For
Degree (or higher) in Ergonomics or Human Factors from an accredited institution.Working towards (or eligible for) professional membership with the Chartered Institute of Ergonomics & Human Factors (CIEHF) or equivalent.Good understanding of human factors, biomechanics and workplace ergonomics.Strong communication and analytical skills.Able to work independently while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams.Previous placement, internship or industrial experience within manufacturing or engineering would be beneficial but is not essential.
This role would suit a recent graduate or early-career Ergonomist looking to gain practical experience within a complex engineering and manufacturing environment.
