Rate: £347.67 per day

Working Pattern: Full time
Working Arrangement: Hybrid

Pertemps is recruiting for an experienced SEND Operational Lead to join a Local Authority in Hackney on a full-time, hybrid basis.

This is an excellent opportunity for a senior SEND professional to lead on the delivery of statutory SEND services, ensuring the Local Authority meets its responsibilities under the Children and Families Act 2014 and associated legislation. The successful candidate will oversee the EHCP process, specialist provision and placements funded through the High Needs Block, while working collaboratively with families, schools, health partners and wider stakeholders to deliver effective SEND services.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure Hackney Council fulfils its statutory responsibilities in relation to SEND and the Children and Families Act 2014
    • Lead and manage the Education, Health and Care (EHC) process, ensuring statutory compliance and high-quality service delivery
    • Oversee specialist provision and placements funded through the High Needs Block
    • Work in partnership with parents/carers, young people, education, health and care services, commissioners and information services
    • Support the integrated and joint delivery of statutory SEND processes, provision, duties and services
    • Drive effective systems and processes to ensure efficient delivery across the SEND service
    • Provide senior operational leadership across complex SEND service areas
    • Build strong relationships with schools, settings and external partners to improve outcomes for children and young people with SEND
Requirements:
  • Qualified to degree level or able to demonstrate substantial equivalent experience within SEND
    • Evidence of wide-ranging and relevant continued professional development
    • Significant experience working as a senior leader across SEND services
    • Strong experience of implementing statutory SEND processes across complex service areas
    • Proven ability to work collaboratively with families, schools and education settings
    • Extensive experience of partnership working with a wide range of stakeholders across the statutory, private and voluntary sectors, including education providers and health commissioners/providers
