Retail Security Officer

We are seeking a dedicated and vigilant Retail Security Officer to join our team and ensure the safety and security of our store and its patrons. The ideal candidate will be responsible for monitoring the premises, deterring theft and vandalism, and maintaining a safe shopping environment for customers and staff. You will conduct regular patrols of the retail space, as well as monitor surveillance footage to identify suspicious activities. Your keen observational skills and proactive approach will be critical in preventing loss and maintaining the integrity of our operations.

Key responsibilities include greeting customers and providing assistance as needed, responding promptly to incidents or emergencies, and collaborating with local law enforcement when necessary. You will be expected to document any irregularities, including theft, property damage, or safety hazards, and prepare incident reports for management review. Additionally, you will educate staff on security protocols and assist in training new employees on loss prevention strategies. A strong commitment to customer service, along with the ability to handle challenging situations calmly and effectively, is essential for success in this role.

Qualifications for this position include a high school diploma or equivalent, previous experience in security or law enforcement preferred, and a valid security license where applicable. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, are required.
