Associate Director - Design Engineering - MEP - Mace - London, United Kingdom

Provide technical leadership and oversight for the Electrical Design function, ensuring the delivery of safe, compliant and high-quality electrical design solutions that meet business, statutory, contractual and client requirements. Support technical assurance, design governance and continuous improvement across projects.

You’ll be responsible for:

• Providing technical leadership and advice on electrical design matters.


• Reviewing and assuring electrical design deliverables, standards and compliance.


• Managing the development and implementation of electrical design processes and best practices.


• Line management and development of MEP Design team members.


• Overseeing internal and external audits, certification and compliance activities.


• Directing design reviews, lessons learned and continuous improvement initiatives.


• Identifying, managing and mitigating technical risks and design quality issues.


• Supporting internal and external audits, certification activities and compliance reviews.


• Delivering technical training, mentoring and knowledge sharing.


• Supporting multidisciplinary coordination and technical workshops.


• Supporting business development activities, bids and technical proposals.


• Monitoring the technical performance of design partners and supply chain members.


• Supporting commissioning, testing and handover activities.


• Contributing to net zero carbon objectives through efficient and sustainable electrical design solutions.

You’ll need to have:

• Degree in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent)


• Typically 15+ years' experience delivering electrical design on complex projects, with strong knowledge of power, lighting, life safety and low-voltage systems, together with experience in technical assurance, design reviews and multidisciplinary coordination.
