Family Help Worker

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a permanent Family Help Worker (formerly known as an Early Help Worker) to join the Boston & South Holland Locality Team within Future4Me.

About the Role

As a Family Help Worker, you will play a crucial role in supporting children and families facing a range of challenges. Acting as a key worker, you will undertake Child & Family Assessments, develop targeted plans, and deliver evidence-based interventions that improve outcomes and promote long-term positive change.

You will work directly with children and families, coordinating support from partner agencies and acting as Lead Professional where appropriate. The role involves supporting families with children subject to Child in Need and Child Protection Plans, ensuring interventions are timely, effective, and focused on strengthening family resilience while reducing reliance on statutory services.

You will support children aged 0–19, helping them navigate education, transition successfully into adulthood, and access opportunities that promote personal and social development. The role also includes delivering interventions for children who are engaging in, or at risk of engaging in, anti-social behaviour, exploitation, offending behaviour, school exclusion, or homelessness.

In addition, you will undertake Youth Justice assessments and develop and deliver appropriate interventions for children involved in the youth justice system, supporting them to reduce offending behaviour and achieve positive outcomes.

About the Team

Future4Me launched countywide in 2019 and brings together Lincolnshire County Council's core services for vulnerable adolescents and their families. Situated within Children's Services, the service was established to strengthen support for children who may be:

• At risk of entering care during adolescence.
• Involved in or at risk of criminal activity.
• Vulnerable to exploitation or harm outside of the family home.
• Experiencing difficulties in education, housing, or within their community.

Working within a Hub and Spoke Model, Future4Me combines the expertise of the Youth Offending Service, Family Help Workers, and specialist practitioners to provide a coordinated and trauma-informed response to concerns and vulnerability.

The team adopts a trauma recovery approach, focusing on understanding and addressing the underlying causes of behaviour and vulnerability. Through strong multi-agency collaboration, including specialist psychology and speech and language support, the service aims to create lasting change and improve outcomes for children and their families.

Future4Me also leads on a number of key areas including:

• Youth Housing.
• Child Exploitation and Missing Children.
• Joint Diversionary Panels.
• Restorative Justice.
• Youth and Community Development.
• Positive Futures and wider community engagement initiatives.

What We're Looking For

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 or equivalent qualification

Experience

We are looking for someone who can demonstrate:

• Experience of working directly with children and families with complex needs.
• The ability to undertake family assessments, develop plans, and deliver needs-led packages of support.
• Experience of coordinating multi-agency interventions and acting as Lead Professional where appropriate.
• The ability to advocate, negotiate, support, and challenge on behalf of children and families in a variety of settings.
• Experience of delivering targeted interventions that improve outcomes for children and families.
• Experience of completing assessments and delivering interventions for children involved in the youth justice system, or the ability to develop these skills within the role.
• Knowledge of safeguarding principles and child-centred practice.
