About the role
Accounts Trainee – Permanent – Stoke-on-Trent – £12.71 per hour (National Minimum Wage)
Full AAT Study Support Provided
Are you looking to kick-start your career in finance? This is an excellent opportunity to join a friendly and supportive company that is committed to developing the next generation of accounting professionals. Full AAT study support will be provided, making this the perfect role for a motivated, ambitious individual looking to build a long-term career in accounts. Working hours are Monday – Friday 09:00am – 17:00pm and this is a fully office-based role.
Duties will include:
- Processing purchase invoices and supplier payments
- Supporting the credit control function
- Posting cash receipts and payments
- Completing bank reconciliations
- Maintaining accurate financial records and accounting data
- Processing employee expenses
- Assisting with the preparation of VAT returns
- Supporting the preparation of monthly management accounts
- Reconciling customer accounts
- Providing general administrative support to the finance team
The successful candidate will have:
- Grade 5 (or above) in GCSE Maths and English
- Two strong A Levels (or equivalent qualifications)
- A genuine interest in pursuing a career within accounting and finance
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Good numerical and organisational skills
- A positive attitude and willingness to learn
- Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office
