Welding Engineer
Summary
We’re looking for an experienced Welding Engineer to lead welding activities and drive continuous improvement across site operations. This is a fantastic opportunity for a qualified professional who thrives in managing welding coordination and ensuring compliance with recognised standards. Location and Working Pattern
On-site | 39 hours per week

Responsibilities
Lead and coordinate welding activities across the site
Act as the Responsible Welding Coordinator to ensure compliance with standards
Develop, implement, and improve the site-wide welding management system
Investigate welding defects, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions
Provide technical support to production and engineering teams
Create and maintain Weld Procedure Specifications (WPS)
Ensure compliance with quality, health, safety, and environmental standards
Contribute to FMEA, Control Plans, and Engineering Change processes
Must-have Requirements
Degree in a relevant engineering discipline (BEng/BSc)
Certified International/European Welding Engineer (IWE/EWE)
Prior experience in a similar Welding Engineer role
Background in Engineering, Oil & Gas, or Renewables sectors
Strong knowledge of welding systems and processes
Experience with manufacturing environments using large-scale equipment and semi-automated welding technologies
Specialist knowledge of Weld Procedure Specifications
Practical experience with welding techniques including:
FCAW (Flux-Cored Arc Welding)
GTAW (Gas Tungsten Arc Welding)
Submerged Arc Welding
Understanding of FMEA, Control Plans, and Engineering Change processes
Working knowledge of ISO standards: ISO 9001, ISO 45001, ISO 14001
Nice-to-have Skills
Experience in developing advanced welding technologies
Exposure to continuous improvement and Lean methodologies
