An established specialist construction and engineering contractor is seeking an experienced Senior Planner to support the successful delivery of major infrastructure and mission-critical construction projects.

You’ll take the lead on planning strategy across tender, pre-construction and live projects, developing robust programmes, managing planning risks and supporting project teams throughout the construction lifecycle.

• Develop and manage construction programmes for tender, pre-construction and live projects.
• Advise project teams on methodology, sequencing and programme strategy.
• Monitor progress, identify risks and implement recovery plans where required.
• Produce and maintain project programmes, progress reports and planning documentation.
• Support extension of time (EOT) and delay analysis with accurate programme records.
• Provide planning input into bids, logistics and temporary works planning.
• Mentor planners and promote best practice across the business.
• Liaise with clients, consultants, subcontractors and senior project teams.

• Significant construction planning experience on major projects.
• Proven ability to develop and manage detailed construction programmes.
• Strong understanding of construction sequencing, methodology and programme risk.
• Experience with tender, contract and post-contract planning.
• Proficiency in ASTA Powerproject, Primavera P6, MS Project or similar planning software.
• Degree, HNC or equivalent in Construction Management, Engineering, Project Controls or a related discipline.

Desirable:

• Professional membership (CIOB, RICS, APM or equivalent).
• Experience mentoring or managing planning teams.
