Sen Teaching Assistant

PK Education are currently looking to recruit teaching assistants in the Sheffield area. This will give you the opportunity to develop your career and gain a lot of valuable experience working in a range of different settings from one to one and in group settings. A successful candidate will:
•Have an NVQ Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent (preferred)
•Experience with working with children or young people
•Be PECS or Makaton trained, not necessary but preferred.
•Be committed and passionate about working with children

Key Responsibilities:
•Working one to one or in groups with children who have autism to ensure that their educational needs are being met.
•Planning a program for this individual student so that they are developing at an efficient rate.
•Helping with the development of social skills and confidence alongside education.
•Where required, using all methods that are helpful for Autistic children, including sensory enrichment and through specialist practices such as Makaton.
