Secondary Teaching Assistant Job DescriptionAs a Level 2 Teaching Assistant, you will work alongside teachers and support staff to provide high-quality classroom support and contribute to a positive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Supporting teaching and learning across KS3 and KS4
• Working with students on a one-to-one and small group basis
• Assisting pupils with additional learning needs and SEND requirements
• Promoting student engagement, confidence and academic progress
• Supporting behaviour management in line with school policies
• Preparing classroom resources and assisting with lesson activities
• Helping to create an inclusive and supportive school environment

Level 2 Teaching Assistant RequirementsTo be considered for this Teaching Assistant role, you should have:

• A Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification or relevant school-based experience
• Previous experience working within a secondary school
• Knowledge of safeguarding and child protection procedures
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills
• A positive and proactive attitude towards supporting young people
• The ability to work effectively as part of a school team
