About the role:
EdStaff are currently working with primary schools in the St Helens area who are looking for cover in the academic year on a daily, short and long-term basis. This role is ideal for a teacher who is looking for flexibility in their role or an ECT who is looking to explore working in a range of settings. You should be passionate about supporting children to build strong foundations in English and Maths, as well as developing independent learners.
As a KS1 teacher with EdStaff you will be responsible for providing high quality delivery of pre-planned lessons on a short-term basis or planning and delivering lessons in line with the Year 1 national curriculum on a longer-term basis, as well as creating a safe, engaging and inclusive classroom where every child can thrive.
You should be able to build strong relationships with both pupils and staff and integrate yourself into the wider school community.
Key responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging, inclusive and curriculum focused lessons
- Promote a positive learning environment for all pupils
- Work collaboratively with colleagues, support staff and parents/carers to ensure the best outcomes for pupils
- Contribute to the wider life of school, including school events
- Adhere to school policies and procedures
Essential requirements:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- Right to work in the UK
- Experience working within a UK Primary School setting
- Strong classroom and behaviour management skills
- Ability to deliver age-appropriate and engaging lessons in line with the national curriculum
- Reliable and punctual with a professional attitude
- Enhanced DBS on the update service or willing to obtain one
