Engagement Mentor

We’re currently hiring for Engagement Mentors to join Primary Schools across North Durham.
You’ll be joining welcoming schools that put wellbeing and community at the center of everything they do. Helping to build a happy and secure learning environment for all.

Engagement Mentor – Requirements or Skills:
- A real passion for working with children
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Positive attitude and enthusiasm for supporting children’s learning
- Understanding of additional needs and how to support them
- Recent experience working in a school or education setting (preferred)
- A Level 2 or 3 qualification in childcare, education or similar — or equivalent hands-on experience (preferred)
Engagement Mentor – Main Responsibilities:
- Encouraging independence by helping pupils develop communication and self-management skills
- Supporting learners by providing one-to-one or small group assistance
- Working collaboratively with teachers and other professionals
- Maintaining safeguarding and confidentiality, following school policies
