Part Time Assistant Caretaker

Hours: 17.5 hours per week

Working Pattern:

• Wednesday: 2:15pm – 6:00pm
• Thursday: 7:15am – 11:00am and 2:15pm – 6:00pm
• Friday: 7:15am – 11:00am and 2:15pm – 6:00pm

We are seeking an enthusiastic Assistant Caretaker to join a friendly primary school in Sheffield. Working alongside the Site Manager, you will help ensure the school site is safe, secure, clean, and well-maintained for pupils, staff, and visitors.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with the day-to-day maintenance and upkeep of the school buildings and grounds.
• Carry out minor repairs, decorating, and general maintenance tasks.
• Support the opening and securing of the school premises.
• Ensure all areas of the school are safe, clean, and presentable.
• Undertake routine health and safety checks and report any issues.
• Assist with room set-ups for school events, meetings, and activities.
• Support contractors and visitors working on site.
• Help maintain outdoor areas, including basic grounds maintenance and litter picking.

• Have practical maintenance, caretaking, or facilities experience (desirable).
• Possess good DIY and problem-solving skills.
• Be dependable, organised, and able to work on their own initiative.
• Have a flexible and positive attitude.
• Understand the importance of health and safety.
• Be committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
