- Drama and expressive activities
- Land-based and practical skills sessions
The school’s holistic approach allows pupils to reconnect with learning in meaningful ways while developing important life skills and improving confidence and engagement.
The Role As a SEND Teaching Assistant, you will:
- Support pupils with a range of additional needs on a 1:1 and small group basis
- Help deliver practical and therapeutic learning activities
- Support pupils’ emotional regulation, communication, and social development
- Encourage independence, engagement, and positive learning behaviours
- Work closely with teachers and the wider multidisciplinary team
- Help create a safe, supportive, and inspiring learning environment
The Ideal Candidate We are looking for someone who is:
- Patient, nurturing, and empathetic
- Passionate about supporting children and young people with SEND
- Interested in therapeutic, practical, or outdoor learning approaches
- Calm, adaptable, and positive in their approach
- Able to build meaningful relationships with pupils and staff
- Open to training and continuous professional development
Experience working with SEND children or young people is highly desirable, however candidates with transferable skills, outdoor education experience, youth work backgrounds, care experience, or a genuine interest in specialist education are also encouraged to apply.
This is a highly rewarding opportunity to work within a creative and therapeutic educational setting where relationships, wellbeing, and individual progress are truly valued.
