Provide Education is recruiting for a Teaching Assistant to join a friendly and supportive secondary school in Barnsley from September 2026. This is a full-time, long-term opportunity, initially for the autumn term, with the potential to continue beyond for the right candidate.

The RoleAs a Secondary Teaching Assistant, you will provide classroom support across Key Stage 3 (KS3) and Key Stage 4 (KS4), working closely with teachers to help students engage with learning and achieve their best. The role will also involve providing 1:1 and small group support for students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) where required, helping to create an inclusive and positive learning environment.

This position would suit experienced Teaching Assistants, Learning Support Assistants (LSAs), SEN Teaching Assistants, youth workers or graduates looking to gain valuable experience within secondary education.

Requirements

• Previous experience working with secondary-aged students
• Experience supporting students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) is desirable
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• A positive, patient and proactive approach
• The ability to build strong relationships with students and staff
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
