Yard Operative with FLT and Sales

We are seeking a dedicated Yard / Sale Assistant to support a busy sales yard and warehouse operations. . You will also be happy to deal with clients and sales enquiries. Computer literacy essential. This role involves assisting with stock management, materials handling, and customer service at the premises. The ideal candidate will have a proactive attitude, physical stamina, and some experience in warehouse or construction environments. This position offers an excellent opportunity to develop skills in logistics, warehouse management systems, and heavy lifting within a dynamic team setting. FLT experience and a current certificate preferred. This is a temp to perm role. The role is primarily yard orientated; however staff all have hybrid roles and are required to work on sales and FLT. Lifting required so physical fitness is required. Monday to Friday and alternate Saturday mornings 8-12pm Wage £12.71 per hour Responsibilities

• Assist with the organisation and maintenance of the sales yard and storage areas
• Load and unload materials using appropriate equipment such as forklifts
• Handle materials safely and efficiently, ensuring proper storage and inventory control
• Support shipping and receiving activities, including documentation and stock checks
• Operate forklift trucks safely, adhering to health and safety regulations
• Manage stock levels using warehouse management systems (WMS)
• Assist customers with purchases and provide excellent customer service during yard sales
• Conduct routine inspections of equipment and materials to ensure safety standards are met
• Support with basic mechanical tasks or repairs as required in the yard environment

Requirements

• Previous experience in warehouse management or construction environments is desirable
• Valid forklift licence or certification is preferred
• Experience with warehouse management systems (WMS) is advantageous
• Physical ability to perform heavy lifting and manual handling tasks regularly
• Good organisational skills with attention to detail
• Mechanical knowledge or understanding of materials handling equipment is beneficial
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
• Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities within a fast-paced environment
• A professional and positive attitude
• Good communication skills
• Computer skills necessary
• Own transport to travel to work
• Complete training as required
