About the Role
Bluestones Medical is currently recruiting an experienced Band 6 General Radiographer to work within a busy hospital environment in Liverpool on a temporary contract from August through to November.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Radiographer looking to secure a longer-term block of work within an NHS hospital setting. The successful candidate will be expected to provide high-quality diagnostic imaging services, working closely with clinical teams to support the diagnosis and treatment of patients.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform a wide range of general radiographic examinations in accordance with departmental protocols.
- Produce high-quality diagnostic images while ensuring patient safety and comfort.
- Assess patients prior to examinations and ensure appropriate preparation.
- Operate radiographic equipment safely and effectively.
- Ensure all imaging procedures are carried out in line with relevant policies, procedures and professional standards.
- Adapt examinations where clinically appropriate and within scope of practice.
- Work collaboratively with radiologists, radiographers, radiography assistants and wider multidisciplinary teams.
- Maintain accurate patient records and imaging documentation.
- Ensure appropriate radiation protection measures are followed at all times.
- Communicate effectively with patients, relatives and other healthcare professionals.
- Provide appropriate care and reassurance to patients throughout the imaging process.
- Participate in departmental quality assurance and clinical governance activities.
- Support junior members of staff and students where appropriate.
- Maintain a high level of professional competence and clinical knowledge.
- Escalate any clinical, equipment or patient safety concerns appropriately.
Essential Requirements
- HCPC registration as a Diagnostic Radiographer.
- Previous experience working at Band 6 level or equivalent.
- Recent experience within a hospital or NHS imaging department.
- Strong experience in general radiography.
- Excellent knowledge of radiation safety and protection principles.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a busy and sometimes high-pressure environment.
- Commitment to providing high-quality, patient-centred care.
- Right to work in the UK.
- Satisfactory compliance and employment checks.

- General X-ray
- Emergency Department imaging
- Inpatient and outpatient radiography
- Mobile radiography
- Theatre imaging
- Orthopaedic imaging
- Trauma imaging
- Digital radiography
- NHS hospital experience
