We’re recruiting a Deputy Manager (Care) to join a large CQC-registered Extra Care service at Keswick Gardens on a 6-month fixed-term contract. Supporting the Registered Manager, you’ll help lead a dedicated team delivering high-quality, person-centred care to residents living independently within a vibrant scheme of 79 self-contained apartments.

Your Role
As Deputy Manager, you’ll support the day-to-day running of the service, ensuring exceptional care delivery, regulatory compliance and strong leadership across the team.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Supporting the operational management of a busy 24/7 Extra Care service
- Leading, motivating and developing care colleagues to deliver outstanding person-centred support
- Managing staff rotas, scheduling and staffing levels
- Supporting recruitment, onboarding and induction of new and agency staff
- Maintaining accurate electronic care plans, risk assessments and care records
- Ensuring safe medication management in line with national guidelines
- Monitoring service quality, compliance and CQC standards
- Managing incidents, complaints and safeguarding concerns appropriately
- Producing reports and supporting KPI performance
- Assisting with budgets, invoices, timesheets and administrative processes
- Working closely with healthcare professionals, commissioners and external agencies to achieve positive outcomes for residents
What You’ll Need
- Previous experience as a Deputy Manager, Team Leader, Senior Support Worker or Senior Care Professional within a CQC-registered Extra Care, Supported Living or Care Home environment
- Experience leading and motivating care teams
- Strong knowledge of CQC regulations, safeguarding and person-centred care
- Experience with rota management, staff supervision and service delivery
- Good IT skills, including updating care plans and maintaining electronic records
- Excellent communication, leadership and organisational skills
- Medication awareness and understanding of safe medication management
- Ability to work flexibly, including evenings, weekends and participation in the on-call rota
- A current Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (essential)
- Available to start immediately
Desirable
- NVQ Level 3 or Level 4 in Health & Social Care (or equivalent)
- Experience within an Extra Care housing environment
- Experience managing budgets, compliance and KPI performance
- Evidence of continued professional development
Working Pattern
- 6-month fixed-term contract
- Based at Keswick Gardens
- 24/7 service with a flexible working pattern, including evenings, weekends and participation in the on-call rota
