Project Engineer / Supervisor – Fire Alarms
Location: Exeter (On-Site)
Contract Length: 6 Months
Day Rate: £300–£325 per day (Inside IR35)
Start Date: September / October 2026
Overview
We are seeking an experienced Fire Alarm Project Engineer / Supervisor to support delivery on a live site in Exeter. This role will focus on overseeing installation works, ensuring quality and compliance, and coordinating on-site activity within a structured construction environment.
Key Responsibilities
Supervise and support the installation of fire alarm systems on-site.
Coordinate engineers and subcontractors to ensure works are delivered safely and on schedule.
Ensure all installations comply with relevant fire safety standards and regulations.
Liaise with site management, contractors, and stakeholders to maintain smooth project delivery.
Carry out quality checks, commissioning support, and documentation where required.
Ensure adherence to health & safety procedures across all activities.
Provide progress updates and reporting to the wider project team.
Key Requirements
Strong experience in fire alarm systems installation and supervision.
FIA training/certification is essential.
Proven experience working on active construction/building sites.
Ability to manage site-based activity and coordinate multiple stakeholders.
Good understanding of fire alarm standards (e.g. BS5839).
Strong organisational and communication skills.
Desirable
Experience in commissioning or fault-finding fire alarm systems.
Previous experience in a Project Engineer or Supervisory capacity.
ECS/CSCS card or relevant site certifications.
Working Arrangements
Fully site-based role in Exeter.
Start date aligned to project mobilisation in September/October.
