Principal / Senior Civil Engineer

Our client, is currently seeking a Principal / Senior Civil Engineer to join their team in Bristol on a permanent basis. This role is ideal for an individual with significant civil engineering experience who is seeking to lead and deliver major infrastructure projects.

Key Responsibilities:

• Leading the design and delivery of major civil infrastructure projects
• Providing expert consultation and technical leadership
• Ensuring design and operational excellence in all civil engineering activities
• Designing and supervising civil engineering projects such as roads, bridges, and water systems
• Ensuring projects meet environmental, safety, and structural standards
• Coordinating with clients and other engineers for seamless project execution
• Overseeing project delivery from proposal to practical completion, ensuring quality, cost, and time objectives are met
• Providing technical leadership and mentoring to engineers and technicians

Job Requirements:

• Experience in producing preliminary and detailed Highway designs (s38 / s278 Highways Act)
• Ability to design Drainage (s104 / s98 Water Act), including strategic and detailed designs, SuDS, flow control structures, and balancing facilities
• Experience in Residential and Commercial external works design, including earthworks assessments
• Proficiency in producing technical reports, assessments, statements, and fee proposals
• Understanding of compliance with relevant standards, policies, and legislation (e.g. CDM and UK Building Regulations)
• Strong understanding of design software such as AutoCAD and MicroDrainage (InfoDrainage)
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills
• Minimum HND/C in Civil Engineering; a Degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline is desirable
• Chartered status with ICE or equivalent body is desirable
