Nuclear Buyer

Location: Pickering, ONEmployment Type: Permanent or ContractPay Rate: $65-75/hourWe are currently seeking an experienced Nuclear Buyer to join our client's team in Pickering, Ontario. This opportunity is available on either a permanent or contract basis, depending on the successful candidate's preference and experience.The ideal candidate will have a strong background in nuclear procurement, with direct Ontario Power Generation (OPG) experience highly preferred. This role is well suited for a procurement professional who understands the unique quality, regulatory, and compliance requirements of the nuclear industry and can effectively manage procurement activities in a fast-paced EPC or industrial environment.Key Responsibilities

Manage the procurement lifecycle for nuclear projects, including sourcing, purchasing, and supplier management.Procure materials and services in accordance with nuclear quality standards, project requirements, and client specifications.Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers while ensuring compliance with procurement policies and contractual obligations.Collaborate with engineering, project, and quality teams to support project execution.Ensure procurement activities align with applicable nuclear codes, standards, and regulatory requirements.Maintain accurate procurement documentation and reporting within procurement systems.
Qualifications

Minimum 2+ years of procurement experience within the nuclear power generation industry or related construction/industrial projects.Previous OPG procurement experience is highly preferred.Experience working in an EPC environment is considered a strong asset.Solid understanding of CSA N286, CSA N285, and CSA N299 standards is required.Quality Assurance experience, including supplier qualification, approvals, and audits, is considered an asset.Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel (intermediate to advanced), Word, and Outlook.Experience using AS7 and Passport procurement systems is required.Valid OPG Security Clearance is required.
