Software Support Engineer

Our client, a leading organisation in the defence and security sector, is currently seeking a Software Engineer with expertise in C++, Ada, Java, or Rust to join their dynamic Simulation Software Department.

Key Responsibilities:

• Improving reliability and reducing technical debt within the Simulation Software Department
• Working in an agile manner closely with customers to understand and meet their needs
• Resolving complex issues and ensuring the reliability of Command-and-Control Systems
• Developing deep knowledge of the architecture to make the platform reliable and resilient
• Implementing durable fixes to identified root causes
• Working with CI/CD pipelines and writing Automated Test Scripts

Job Requirements:

• Experience in Software Engineering
• Proficiency in C++, Java, or Rust with a willingness to learn and develop in Ada
• Understanding of key software development concepts within an Agile environment
• Experience of performance tuning and root-cause analysis
• Willingness to build deep system architecture understanding

Desirable Skills:

• Prior experience with the Ada programming language
