CNC Machinist

Location: Southampton

Job Type: Temporary (minimum 6 months)
Hours: Monday to Friday, 07:00 - 16:00
Pay: Up to £19.50 per hour (depending on experience)

Overview

Our client, a well‑established and forward‑thinking manufacturing company, is looking to recruit an experienced CNC Setter / Operator to join their team initially for 6-months but with the possibility of extension. This is a key role within the business, supporting the production of high‑quality components in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Set and operate Mazak Integrex CNC machine tools
• Load, prove, and run CNC programs accurately
• Set cutting tools and establish tool and workpiece datums
• Monitor tool condition and carry out basic tool maintenance as required
• Perform self‑inspection of finished components against engineering drawings and customer specifications

Requirements

• Proven experience setting and operating CNC milling and turning machines
• Strong knowledge of Mazak / Mazatrol controls
• Confident interpreting engineering drawings and planning layouts
• High attention to detail with the ability to carry out self‑inspection
• Proactive approach to problem‑solving, tooling, and machine care
