CNC Machine Operator - Turning & Milling

Introduction

Acorn by Synergie is recruiting for a CNC Machine Operator to join a well-established, family-run engineering company based in Witheridge, near Tiverton.

This is an excellent permanent opportunity for someone with CNC turning and milling experience, or for a technically minded individual looking to develop a long-term career in precision engineering. Full training is available for the right candidate, with genuine opportunities to progress to a CNC Setter.

Please note: Own transport is essential due to the rural location.

Key Duties

• Operate CNC turning and milling machines to manufacture precision-engineered components.

• Load and unload raw materials and finished products.

• Produce components accurately to engineering drawings and specifications.

• Carry out quality inspections using measuring equipment.

• Read and interpret engineering drawings and work instructions.

• Identify and report machine or quality issues promptly.

• Maintain a clean, safe, and organised working environment.

• Follow company quality standards and health and safety procedures.

Requirements

• Previous experience operating CNC turning and milling machines is beneficial but not essential.

• Full training provided for candidates with a strong technical aptitude and willingness to learn.

• Experience within engineering, manufacturing, machining, or machine operation is advantageous.

• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings is desirable.

• Good attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.

• Reliable, practical, and able to work effectively as part of a team.

• Own transport is essential due to the location.

Hours & Pay

• Monday to Friday.

• 42.5 hours per week.

• Working hours: 7am/8am-5pm.

• Flexible working hours available for the right candidate.

• £15.00 per hour.
