Data EngineerNewcastle (Hybrid)Permanent Competitive salary + packageI’m currently working with a global consultancy to hire Data Engineers to join a growing Advanced Technology team delivering large-scale data solutions across public and private sector clients.This is a hands-on role where you’ll work with modern data technologies, building scalable pipelines and real-time data platforms that power analytics and AI-driven decision making.What you’ll be doingBuilding and optimising scalable data pipelines using Java (primary) and technologies like Kafka, Flink, or SparkDeveloping real-time streaming solutions and event-driven architectures using AWS services (Kinesis, MSK, Lambda, Glue)Contributing to data architecture, modelling, and best practices across modern data platformsDeploying and maintaining solutions using CI/CD and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation)Collaborating with analytics, AI, and product teams to deliver high-quality, reliable datasetsWhat they’re looking for• Strong experience in data engineering or large-scale data platforms (3+ years)• Proficiency in Java or Python• Hands-on experience with streaming technologies (Kafka / Flink preferred)• Good understanding of distributed systems and cloud platforms (AWS ideally)• Experience with CI/CD, Docker, Kubernetes, and modern DevOps practicesWhy consider this role?• Work on high-impact, large-scale data projects• Exposure to modern cloud and streaming technologies• Strong career progression within a global organisation• Collaborative, innovation-focused engineering culturePlease note: This role requires eligibility for UK security clearance (5 years UK residency).
