Full Stack Engineer, BigPay (Fully Remote)

As part of the BigPay Engineering team, you'll build products that power real-world payment experiences, from digital wallets and payment flows to cross-border money movement and financial services. This is a 100% remote, work-from-home opportunity.

Responsibilities

Design, build and maintain end-to-end product features across frontend and backend services.

Develop modern, responsive web applications using React and TypeScript, delivering intuitive user experiences.

Design and implement scalable backend services and APIs supporting payment, wallet and financial workflows.

Collaborate closely with Product Managers, Designers, Mobile Engineers and Backend Engineers to deliver high-quality products.

Build reliable, secure and high-performance distributed systems capable of supporting millions of global users.

Improve system reliability, performance, observability and engineering efficiency through automation and best practices.

Participate in architecture discussions and contribute to technical design decisions across the full technology stack.

Write clean, maintainable and well-tested code while conducting thoughtful code reviews.

Continuously optimise product performance, usability and developer experience.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related discipline.
• 3+ years of professional experience in Full Stack software development.
• Strong experience with React, TypeScript, HTML5 and modern frontend development.
• Solid backend development experience with Java (Spring Boot), Node.js, Go, or similar backend technologies.
• Experience designing and building RESTful APIs and microservices.
• Good understanding of relational databases, caching technologies and distributed system fundamentals.
• Familiarity with cloud-native development, Docker, Kubernetes or CI/CD pipelines is advantageous.
• Strong understanding of software engineering best practices, testing and system design.
• Excellent problem-solving skills with a passion for building products that customers love.
• Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate in a fast-paced global engineering environment.
• Experience building fintech, payment, digital wallet or banking product

Nice to Have

Experience working with high-concurrency, high-availability systems.

Familiarity with event-driven architecture, Kafka or message queues.

Experience with GraphQL, Next.js or modern frontend frameworks.

Interest in blockchain, Web3 or digital assets.

Contributions to open-source projects or strong personal engineering projects.
