About the role

The Challenge: Are you resilient enough?

Randstad Care is urgently recruiting high-caliber, veteran Children's Support Workers to join our emergency rapid-response pool covering Redcar and Sedgefield.

This is not a standard, predictable care role. You will be stepping directly into high-pressure situations to provide critical support to children and young people experiencing acute trauma, distress, and emotional turmoil. We need individuals who don't just "cope" with severe challenging behaviors, but who can actively de-escalate crisis environments with absolute composure and professional mastery.

Key Responsibilities
  • Crisis Management: Safely and effectively manage, diffuse, and de-escalate highly challenging physical and verbal behaviors exhibited by children and young people.

  • Emergency Intervention: Step into unfamiliar care environments at short notice, instantly establishing boundaries, safety, and a grounding authority.

  • Positive Behaviour Support: Implement complex care and crisis management plans meticulously, utilizing positive behavior reinforcement strategies.

  • Robust Reporting: Document precise, legally compliant incident logs and behavioral tracking details immediately following every shift.

Mandatory Candidate Requirements
  • Right to Work: You must possess an unrestricted right to work in the UK. No visa sponsorship is available for this position now or in the future.
  • Background Check (DBS): An active, enhanced children's DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to process a new one immediately).

  • Vetting References: You must be able to provide continuous, verifiable professional references covering the last 3 consecutive years of employment history.

  • Training Certification: You must hold a valid, in-date Mandatory Training Certificate covering resuscitation and manhandling and critically, a BILD certified PMVA training certificate

Why Join Our Elite Ad-Hoc Pool?
  • Premium Pay: Top-tier competitive rates from £16.00 to £18.00 per hour.

  • Ultimate Flexibility: Choose your shifts. Perfect for experienced professionals looking to supplement their income or control their own weekly schedule.

  • Dedicated Support: Access to a fast-track compliance team to get you cleared and working within days.
