Satellite Systems Test Manager

Our client is recruiting a Satellite Systems Test Manager for a contract position based in Portsmouth, working on satellite projects. The Test Manager will lead the overall test definition aspects of the project to which they are assigned. They will be accountable for defining the test approach to meet the Customer requirements and managing the team to deliver against this approach. They will be training other engineers and leading by example.The Test Manager will produce the test artefacts that will be entered into bid submissions and then lead the Test & Verification on the delivery of the project, defining and then conducting, or overseeing, all test and verification activities on the project to cost, time and quality targets in line with the Business Management System. This includes the definition of the IVV Strategy to deliver the capability, for example, of satellite segment, control segment, ground segment, facilities segment and support systems.Responsibilities
Using appropriate tools and techniques verify and validate deliverables to standards defined in the BMS and specification requirements.Be aware of technological/engineering developments and issues in industry and interact with the Engineering Management to continuously improve Engineering.Manage production of test and verification strategies/plans which minimise risk by confirming validity of the technical solution as early/cost effectively as possible and verify that subcontractor deliverables fully meet their contracted requirements.Advise in the creation/use of the System Reference Model or other test environmentsBe accountable for a Verification Cross Reference Index of test and verification status against requirementsBe accountable for the defect management process with regards to T&V.Ensure the End-to-End testing complies with the project requirementsDemonstrate to the Authority that the system meets contracted requirementsEnsure that the test aspects of the projects are met on time, cost and quality

Proven ability in testing – highly desirable Advanced Manager level of ISTQB in Software TestingProven ability in project management – highly desirable Prince 2 practitionerFormal training in project planning tools - highly desirableKnowledge in the Satellite Communications domain – highly desirable
