Senior Planning, Monitoring & Control Professional - Planning - V06185

Our client, a prominent player in the defence and security sector, is seeking a highly skilled Senior Planning, Monitoring & Control Professional to join their Planning team in Barrow on a 12-month contract basis. This fully on-site, hybrid role is an excellent opportunity for an experienced planner to contribute to significant projects within the submarine solutions division.

Key Responsibilities:

• Developing detailed project plans and schedules to support complex defence and security projects
• Monitoring project progress to ensure timely completion, while adhering to quality and cost parameters
• Identifying potential risks and implementing mitigation strategies to minimise impact on project timelines
• Leading planning meetings and progress reviews with key stakeholders
• Producing regular status reports and presenting findings to senior management
• Coordinating with multiple departments to ensure cohesive project execution
• Utilising advanced planning tools and software to enhance project visibility and tracking
• Providing mentorship and guidance to junior planning professionals within the team

Job Requirements:

• Proven experience in planning within the defence and security sector
• Expertise in project management tools and software, such as Primavera P6 or Microsoft Project
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Effective communication and presentation abilities
• Excellent organisational and time management skills
• Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple projects simultaneously
• Understanding of risk management and mitigation techniques
• Relevant professional qualification in project management or a related field
