About the role

Opportunity: Help Shape the Future of AI Physics Education

Are you a qualified Secondary Science teacher with a specialised background in Physics? Do you have a passion for educational technology, pedagogy, and safeguarding?

We are looking for experienced Physics educators to join a vital national project. You will play a key role in building the benchmarks that ensure AI tutoring tools are safe, scientifically accurate, and pedagogically sound for students across the UK.

About the Role

This is a highly flexible, fully remote role running until 30th September 2026, requiring approximately 5-10 hours per week.

Using your subject expertise, you will evaluate AI systems, create physics teaching scenarios, and set the standards by which AI science tools are measured. Your day-to-day will involve designing realistic student-teacher dialogues (covering forces, energy, waves, and electricity), developing benchmarking criteria to test the accuracy of physical laws and mathematical calculations, scoring AI responses, and building rubrics to evaluate how effectively the AI untangles complex concepts and misconceptions.

- Pay Rate: £20 - £30 per hour

- Location: Fully Remote (UK)

- Hours: 5-10 hours per week (Flexible)

Key Requirements

Mandatory:

- Secondary Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with verified experience teaching Science/Physics in English schools (references required).

- Specific experience teaching Year 9 Physics.

- Comfortable using web-based platforms, formatting equations/scientific notation, and adapting to new software.

- Your own laptop and a reliable internet connection.

Highly Valued (But Not Required):

- Safeguarding Expertise: Designated Safeguarding experience (e.g., current/former DSL or Deputy DSL, or Level 3+ safeguarding training with practical child protection responsibilities).

- SEND Experience: SENCO experience, working in a specialist school, or holding a recognised Level 3+ SEND qualification.

Desirable (But Not Required):

- 2+ years of experience delivering approved Science teacher training (ITT, NPQs, ECF, etc.).

- 1+ years of 1:1 Physics tutoring experience with Year 9 students.
