Order Pickers – Bellshill

People Solutions are currently recruiting for experienced Order Pickers to join a large, well-established distribution centre based in Bellshill.

This is a fantastic opportunity offering ongoing full-time work, competitive rates of pay, paid breaks, performance incentives and long-term opportunities within a busy warehouse environment.

The client has opportunities available across both the Grocery and Produce/Fresh departments.

These roles are fast-paced and target-driven, so previous warehouse picking experience is essential due to the nature of the work.

This role would suit candidates who have worked as a Warehouse Operative, Voice Picker or Picker Packer.

Rates of Pay:

• Day shift: £13.22 per hour (rising to £14.06 per hour after twelve weeks)
• Late shift: £14.54 per hour (rising to £15.47 per hour after twelve weeks)
• Night shift: £15.63 per hour (rising to £16.62 per hour after twelve weeks)
• Overtime: £19.82 per hour (rising to £21.09 per hour after twelve weeks)
• Paid breaks
• Pick bonus of 30p per hour for achieving 90% to 95% of target
• Pick bonus of 50p per hour for achieving 95% and above of target
• Weekly pay every Friday
• Full paid induction and training

Shift Pattern:

As an Order Picker, you will work:

• Any five days over seven
• Must be available to work any day of the week
• Weekend working is required as part of the rota
• Rotas are fairly distributed across all colleagues
• 06:00 to 14:00
• 14:00 to 22:00
• 22:00 to 06:00
• Candidates must be able to attend their first week of training on a 06:00 start

Day-to-Day Duties:

Your duties as an Order Picker are:

• Picking grocery stock accurately using a voice headset picking system
• Operating LLOP equipment within the Grocery department
• Picking produce and fresh items using a handheld scanner
• Building pallets safely and correctly for store delivery
• Working towards pick-rate, accuracy and productivity targets
• Carrying out manual handling duties, including lifting, bending and moving stock
• Undertaking heavy lifting, particularly within the Produce/Fresh department
• Standing and walking for long periods throughout the shift
• Working within a fast-paced warehouse environment
• Following all health and safety procedures and site processes
• Supporting with general warehouse duties where required

Essential Skills:

To be successful as an Order Picker, you will need:

• Previous warehouse picking experience is essential
• Voice picking and LLOP experience for the Grocery department
• Handheld scanner experience for the Produce/Fresh department
• Availability to work any day of the week
• Ability to work any five days over seven, including weekends
• Reliability, punctuality and excellent attendance
• Ability to work within a fast-paced, target-driven environment
• Good attention to detail and accuracy
• Physical fitness and the ability to remain on your feet for long periods
• Ability to carry out manual handling duties, including heavy lifting
• Comfort working in an environment where alcohol and pork products may be present
• Willingness to undergo and pass a drug and alcohol screening
• Own transport is advantageous due to shift times

Training:

As an Order Picker, you will receive:

• A full paid site induction
• Full training before commencing work
• Drug and alcohol screening completed on site before starting
• Paid inductions take place every Monday
