Some students need more than academic guidance to thrive at school. They need someone who can provide consistency, encouragement and reassurance when challenges arise.
A thriving Southampton school is seeking an Emotional Wellbeing Support Mentor to work alongside pupils with SEND and SEMH needs, helping them build confidence, overcome barriers to learning and develop positive relationships within the school community.
You’ll become a key part of the school’s pastoral and inclusion team, supporting pupils who benefit from additional emotional and behavioural support throughout the school day.
Key Responsibilities
Providing one-to-one and small group support for pupils with additional needs
Encouraging positive engagement in lessons and school activities
Supporting emotional regulation and wellbeing strategies
Building trusted and professional relationships with pupils
Working closely with teaching and pastoral staff to ensure consistent support
Promoting independence, resilience and self-confidence

Experience working with children, young people or vulnerable individuals
A calm, patient and empathetic approach
Strong communication and relationship-building skills
A genuine passion for supporting young people to succeed
