CNC Router Operator (Temporary – Up to 6 Months)

Location: Gateshead
Pay Rate: £13.01 – £13.89 per hour (dependent on experience)
Contract: Temporary (Up to 6 Months)
Hours: 07:30-16:30

The Opportunity

We are currently recruiting for a CNC Router Operator on behalf of our client for a temporary assignment of up to 6 months. This is an excellent opportunity to join a busy manufacturing environment, working with industry-leading CNC equipment and producing high-quality finished products.

The successful candidate will primarily be responsible for operating 3-axis CNC Routers (AXYZ and Tekcel), ensuring parts are manufactured accurately and to the highest standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate 3-axis CNC Routers (AXYZ and Tekcel).
• Set up and monitor machine operations to ensure efficient production.
• Create and amend machine programs using VCarve CAM Software (depending on experience).
• Ensure all products meet drawing specifications and quality requirements.
• Conduct quality checks to confirm correct dimensions, finish, and overall product standards.
• Carry out routine machine maintenance, including:
  • Checking and maintaining sacrificial boards.
  • Greasing machine runners.
  • Troubleshooting and resolving minor machine issues.
• Maintain high standards of housekeeping and undertake 6S responsibilities for both the machine and surrounding work area.
• Follow all health and safety procedures and company policies.

About You

Essential:

• Previous CNC operating experience within a manufacturing environment.
• Ability to read and work from technical drawings.
• Strong attention to detail and quality standards.
• Good problem-solving skills and a proactive attitude.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Desirable:

• Experience operating AXYZ or Tekcel CNC Routers.
• Experience using VCarve CAM Software.
• Experience with Automatic Letter Bender (ALB) and/or FLOW Waterjet machinery.
