Senior Electrical Engineer (MEICA)Location: North East England Start Date: September 2026 Duration: 43-month contract Employment Type: ContractThe OpportunityMorson is supporting a leading engineering consultancy in recruiting an experienced Senior Electrical Engineer to support the delivery of a major flood risk and asset management programme in the North East of England.This role offers the opportunity to provide Senior User technical support across a portfolio of significant infrastructure projects, helping to deliver resilient and sustainable water and flood defence assets.The RoleAs the Senior Electrical Engineer, you will provide expert electrical engineering support throughout the lifecycle of major MEICA capital schemes.Key responsibilities include:Providing Senior User electrical engineering support across complex infrastructure projects. Reviewing electrical designs, drawings, specifications and technical submissions. Supporting engineering assurance and technical governance processes. Providing technical advice on electrical systems, installations and standards. Working collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams, contractors and project stakeholders. Supporting commissioning activities and ensuring compliance with engineering standards. Promoting best practice throughout project delivery. Essential RequirementsApplicants should demonstrate:Extensive electrical engineering experience within the UK water industry. Proven experience supporting major MEICA capital schemes. Strong knowledge of electrical infrastructure associated with water and flood defence projects. Experience providing technical assurance or senior engineering support. Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills. Availability from 1 September 2026. Ability to commit to a 43-month programme. Desirable ExperienceExperience in any of the following would be advantageous:Flood risk and coastal infrastructure projects. Pumping stations, power distribution and control systems. Large-scale infrastructure and civil engineering projects. Working with regulated public sector organisations. Chartered Engineer status or membership of a recognised professional institution (e.g. IET). Whats on Offer Long-term contract on a nationally significant infrastructure programme.
