KS2 Teaching Assistant – Primary School – Nottingham
Milk Education are recruiting for a caring, dedicated, and enthusiastic KS2 Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Nottingham on a long-term basis, starting in September 2026.
You’ll be joining a supportive school community that is committed to providing children with the very best opportunities to learn, develop, and achieve their full potential. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Teaching Assistant who is passionate about supporting pupils across Key Stage 2 and helping them to thrive both academically and personally.
The successful candidate will work closely with the class teacher and wider school team, providing targeted support to pupils through 1:1 and small-group work, while contributing to a positive, inclusive, and engaging classroom environment.
What You’ll Be Doing in the Role:
- Supporting pupils across Key Stage 2 with their learning and development
- Providing effective 1:1 and small-group support
- Supporting the class teacher with the planning and delivery of engaging learning activities
- Helping pupils to develop their confidence, independence, and social skills
- Supporting pupils who may require additional learning or behavioural support
- Adapting activities and resources to meet individual pupil needs
- Supporting children with SEND and ensuring they can access learning
- Assisting with interventions to support pupils’ progress in literacy and numeracy
- Promoting positive behaviour and encouraging pupils to engage with their learning
- Building strong and positive relationships with pupils and staff
- Working collaboratively with teachers, teaching assistants, and the wider school team
- Supporting the overall positive and inclusive ethos of the school
- Contributing to safeguarding and child protection procedures
Essential Requirements:
- Recent and relevant experience working within a primary school setting
- Experience supporting pupils across KS2 is desirable
- A relevant Teaching Assistant or education qualification is desirable
- Experience working 1:1 or with small groups of pupils
- A genuine passion for supporting children’s learning and development
- A patient, nurturing, and positive approach
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Good understanding of safeguarding and inclusive practice
- Ability to build positive relationships with children and staff
