About the Role
Milk Education is working in partnership with a welcoming and supportive primary school in Tadcaster to recruit a dedicated and compassionate Inclusion Support Worker.
This rewarding role focuses on supporting pupils with additional needs, removing barriers to learning and ensuring every child has equal access to educational opportunities. This is a full-time position starting 1st September 2026, with a minimum commitment of one year.

Key Responsibilities

Provide tailored support for pupils on a 1:1 basis, within small groups and across whole-class settings.

Support pupils with their individual learning, social and emotional development.

Assist teachers in assessing pupil needs and implementing personalised support strategies.

Help children overcome barriers to learning, engagement, attendance and confidence.

Monitor and record pupil progress, providing feedback to teachers and support staff.

Build positive relationships with pupils, families and colleagues to create a supportive school environment.

Prepare and use specialist resources, interventions and equipment to support individual learning needs.
-
Support children with communication, interaction, cognition, sensory and complex SEND needs.
-
Promote a child-centred approach, ensuring pupils remain at the heart of all support and decision-making.

Follow safeguarding procedures and promote a safe, inclusive learning environment.
What We’re Looking For
The ideal candidate will have:

Experience supporting children or young people with SEND, SEMH or additional learning needs.

A genuine passion for improving outcomes and helping children succeed.

The ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a wider school team.

A calm, patient and adaptable approach to supporting behaviour and learning.

Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships.

A commitment to safeguarding, inclusion, equality and ongoing professional development.

A willingness to learn new strategies and approaches to support pupils effectively.
