Role

As a Building Surveyor working in Nottingham, your key responsibilities will include:

Acting as the principal consultant advising clients on the condition, risk, and value of their built assets
Conducting detailed building condition surveys and preparing professional reports to inform client decisions
Managing refurbishment, fit-out, and repair projects, often under JCT or NEC4 forms of contract
Advising on compliance with statutory and regulatory frameworks, including Building Regulations, Planning, CDM 2015, and accessibility standards
Diagnosing building defects, evaluating their cause, and developing practical, cost-effective remedial strategies
Using investigative tools such as thermal imaging, damp testing, or drone surveys as appropriate for Nottinghamshire property assessments
Responsibilities

The Building Surveyor position in Nottingham requires you to:

Deliver comprehensive building consultancy services to clients across multiple sectors
Provide expert technical advice throughout property lifecycles
Conduct professional building surveys and inspections to identify defects and recommend solutions
Prepare detailed specifications and schedules of work for repair and refurbishment projects
Manage construction projects from inception to completion
Liaise with clients, contractors, and statutory authorities
Ensure all work complies with relevant regulations and industry standards in the East Midlands
Person

The ideal candidate for this Building Surveyor role in Nottingham will have:

Degree in Building Surveying, or a related field
Chartered status (MRICS) or commitment to achieving it within two years
Experience working for a Private Practice, Construction Consultancy, or similar organisation
At least 5 years Post-Qualification Experience
Good working knowledge of IT is essential, with Microsoft Office, Excel & AutoCAD
Excellent communication and organisation skills
Experience in project delivery of the design and refurbishment of existing buildings, including Contract Administration role
Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel to project sites across the UK
