Role

As a Senior Quantity Surveyor working in Nottinghamshire, your key responsibilities will include:

Leading the preparation of detailed Bills of Quantities, Schedules of Work and Tender Documents for complex construction projects in Nottingham and surrounding areas
Autonomously administering contracts, including reviewing payment applications and issuing interim valuation certificates under JCT, NEC and other standard forms of contract
Providing expert guidance on different procurement routes: traditional, design and build, management contracting, etc.
Overseeing the preparation of accurate financial reports and cashflow forecasts for internal and client use
Directing change control procedures and variations for major Nottinghamshire construction projects
Managing complex tender processes and developing procurement strategies for cost-effective building solutions
Responsibilities

The Senior Chartered Quantity Surveyor position in Nottingham requires you to:

Lead and deliver professional quantity surveying services to high-profile clients across multiple sectors
Provide expert cost advice and strategic input throughout project lifecycles from inception to completion
Mentor junior quantity surveyors and oversee their professional development
Work collaboratively with architects, engineers and contractors to ensure successful project delivery
Represent the company at senior level client meetings and site visits
Stay at the forefront of industry standards, regulations, and best practices in construction cost management
Contribute to business development and client relationship management
Person

The ideal candidate for this Senior Quantity Surveyor role in Nottingham will have:

A degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Cost Management, or a related field
Chartered status (MRICS) with minimum 5-7 years post-qualification experience
Extensive experience working for a Private Practice, Construction Consultancy, or similar organisation
Advanced proficiency in CostX Measurement Software
Proven track record in managing complex construction projects and teams
Exceptional analytical, negotiation, and problem-solving skills
Outstanding communication and client relationship management abilities
Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel to project sites across the UK
